The Hollow Point

The Hollow Point is a new journal aimed at documenting the narratives and data the gun industry doesn’t want Americans to know about. As the country continues to grapple with gun violence and political inaction, The Hollow Point seeks to foster the honest, necessary conversations about guns that too often go unheard.

ISSUE NO. 2, DECEMBER 2024

How did the gun industry successfully create a consumer identity around gun ownership? How have decades of American gun culture warped our idea of public safety? Most importantly, how do we take back our country from this dangerous status quo? We explore all this and more in our second issue of The Hollow Point, which features:

  • An essay by Firmin DeBrabander.
  • An interview with Michelle Barnhart, Brett Burkhardt, and Aimee Huff from Oregon State University.
  • A shopping guide from the Guns Down America team to help you shop your power this holiday season.
