On February 7, 2025, Trump issued an executive order demanding a review of gun policies under the guise of protecting the Second Amendment.
The deadline for Attorney General Pam Bondi to finalize that report was March 7th. That was pushed to March 16th and, as of March 18th, we still have not received any information about the report.
This has nothing to do with the Second Amendment.
The policies that are being audited by Pam Bondi already passed tests of constitutionality and led to the lowest rate of violent crime in 50 years.
Why would a “tough on crime” administration that is hellbent on “efficiency” waste time examining policies that are good for the American public’s wellbeing?
Our guess? The gun industry.
It's our right to know why the administration is attacking policies that protect us. That's why we're taking action to understand whether the gun industry has anything to do with this dangerous, wasteful audit.
Guns Down America filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, shared below, to demand a copy of the report and find out who might be behind this audit.
We are demanding a record of meetings, communications, and information between the Trump administration, especially Attorney General Pam Bondi, and gun industry players.
Join us by filing your own FOIA using the instructions and sample letter below.
