American gun manufacturer Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (Ruger) held its fourth quarter earnings call touting $145.8 million in fourth-quarter sales, bringing them to $535.6 million for 2024.
We are stuck with the bill for every gun Ruger sold this quarter. While they mark up guns to pad their wallets, we pay untold billions in medical expenses, lost wages, and pain no person, family, or community in one of the wealthiest countries in the world should bear. The tragedies involving Ruger firearms in just the last three months should serve as a call to reject their guns and invest in the communities that have been impacted by gun violence.
From domestic violence to road rage, accidental shootings to homicides, their weapons are the common denominator. Instead of acknowledging their role in this crisis, Ruger remains laser-focused on locking in lifelong customers, doubling down on aggressive marketing, and fueling a cycle of violence that Americans pay for — twice.
